Day one, I told you I loved you the only way I knew how.
I gave you my words.
You gave my words back, thinking it a joke.
With everything you knew about me, it was inevitable.
But I won't give up.
Not for you.
Day seven, I tried again, a bouquet of flowers in my arms.
My hopes raised when I saw the surprise.
Then you threw my hopes back down.
I could only chuckle while you laughed.
Someone was happy to take the flowers but it wasn't you.
